Ouch. My youth was always in dress shirts, Oxford toe capped shoes and chinos. Yes I never had any friends.

I was brought up with dress whites for lawn tennis and different ones for other court and indoor tennis (I wasn't even allowed a metal racket, had to learn to play with a 'proper' Wilson wooden racket), I was given my first pair of trainers when I was 14 as I needed a pair to train with the British Olympic team.
No I still don't have friends/friends, acquaintances yes. But I grew up away from others being a forces kid and never learned how to be with people and grew up socially awkward.
Many people I know and work with let me down and I've given up and just get on with things.

I grew up with parents that told me "Some people read the bible, some don't, we'll let you figure that out yourself." They supported me when I played hockey, they supported me when I wanted to do cross country skiing.
I kinda feel bad for you now mate, and I know you don't want that.. But hey, if you're ever in Norway, give me a shout and we'll have some fun.

Nice. My parents always said 'you're not like other children, your special', and when I was young would have my lunch in the guard house with the guards. I took in all information from mysteries, religion and science and found mysteries are not always a mystery, religion is a croc of crap and science is ruddy awesome.
I learned it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice. I try to live by it but occasionally have an off day when my other saying I live by (you can't cure stupid so don't let it worry you) doesn't work. Lol.
Thanks, don't feel bad for me. Life is a many varied thing.
